- The communications audit - that process whereby
- the communications within an organization are analysed by
an internal or external consultant - became increasingly familiar
as rapid changes occurred in communication systems. This report
investigated in detail the methodologies being used to carry
out these audits, the extent to which consultants were being
employed by organizations to carry out such audits in the UK,
and the impact of information technology on communications auditing
in general. Over 250 organizations contributed to the survey,
in both the public and private sectors. The report is valuable
reading for anyone requiring perspective on the objectives, methods
and consequences of communications audits in modern organizations.
